Things are starting to pick up in Lansing as the budget and stimulus discussion continue to evolve. Notable actions this week include:

The Senate began reporting some of the fiscal year 2010 budgets out of their respective subcommittees, including DHS with restored funding for 0-3 and secondary prevention.
The House Appropriations Committee reported out the first fiscal year 2009 supplemental containing stimulus dollars for specific transportation projects.
The Senate Appropriations Stimulus Subcommittee held its first meeting and committed to moving the transportation stimulus bill by April 1 and to work as quickly as prudently possible on the remaining 2009 supplemental stimulus plans.
The House DHS Subcommittee held a joint hearing with the Children and Family Services Policy Committee on the audit and subsequent redesign plan for the child care subsidy system.
